As per GOI, MHA order No. F.11011/28/2012-IS-IV dated 1/6/12, NIA took over the investigation of FIR No.07/2012 Dated. 10/02/2012 of Chitrakonda Police Station, Malkangir, Odisha and re-registered the case on 8th June 2012 at PS NIA, HQ, New Delhi as case No.RC-02/2012/NIA/DLI under section IPC 147, 148, 121, 121 (A), 122, 124 (A), 324, 326, 307, 302, 395, 149, Arms Act - 25,27, Explosive Substance Act- 3,4,5, Other Acts &Sections 17 Cr.LA Act.

Summary of Allegations

On 10th Feb 2012, a BSF team while returning to Balimela from Company Operating Base, Tunnel Camp was ambushed by naxals near Village Janiguda on NH 4. Shri J R Khaswan, Commandant alongwith three others of 107 Battalion BSF were killed and arms, ammunition and communication sets of troops were looted.

Present Status of Investigation

On 09.05.2014, Charge-sheet was filed in NIA Spl. Court, Bhuvneshwar against 01 accused person.

On 06.08.2015, Supplementary charge-sheet was filed in N IA Spl Court, Bhuvnesh war against 15 accused persons and the case is under trial.
