A case in FIR No. 80/06 was registered at PS Kasaba, Kozhikode,
Kerala on 12/02/2006 relating to the bomb explosion at the Moffusil Bus Stand, Kozhikode,
Kerala. Government of India ordered transfer of the case for investigation to
NIA. Accordingly a Case No.RC-05/2009/NIA-DLI was registered at PS NIA on 18-12-2009.

Present Status: Charge sheet was filed in the NIA Special Court, Ernakulam, Kerala on 18/08/2010 against 08 accused persons u/s 120B, 124(A), 153(A), 324 r/w 34 of IPC, Sec 16 (i) (b), 18 and 23 of UA (P) Act. 1967 and Sec. 3, 4 & 5 of Explosive Substances Act. The trial has completed and the accused persons namely Thadiyantavida Naseer @ Haji @ Haji @ Sidhique @ Naseer (A1) and Shafas (A4) were found guilty and were convicted by the trail Court. Two accused persons namely Abdul Halim (A3) and Abubacker Yusuf @ Yusuf Chettipady (A9) were found not guilty and acquitted. Appeal against the order of acquittal of the trail court has been filed before the Hon’ble High Court of Kerala on 31-10-2011 aganist Abdul Halim and Abubacker Yusuf @ Yusuf Chettipady. The criminal appeal was numbered as Crl Appeal No, 1914/2011. The Hon’ble court ordered notice to respondents. Last listed on 03/11/2011and no date fixed for hearing.
