CASE-02/11 (Guwahati Branch)
Litan Police Station, Ukhrul District, Manipur had registered
a case vide FIR No. 6(4)/2011 U/sections 302,307,326,427,400 & 34 IPC and Sections
25 (1-C) of Arms Act on 15/04/2011. Govt. of India ordered NIA to take up the investigation
of the case. Accordingly, the Case has been re-registered on 11/07/2011 at NIA Police Station Guwahati.
Summary of Allegations:
On 15/04/2011 at about 2.30pm the Hon'ble MLA of Phungyar A/C
and his security escort were ambushed by some terrorists armed with sophisticated
weapons at New Canan Village.
Present Status: The case is under investigation.
