RC-02/2010/NIA-DLI

A FIR No. 356/2008 dated 09.09.2005 was registered at PS Edakkad, Kannur District, Kerala. Later Govt. of India transferred the case to NIA for further investigation. Accordingly a Case No.RC-02/2010/NIA-DLI was registered at NIA on 21.01.2010.

The accused Abdul Jaleel along with other accused persons operating in and out of Kerala allegedly having links with terrorist organization recruited youngsters for Jehadi training in Pakistan, thereby assisting Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a banned organization for waging war against the Govt. of India.

Present Status: Charge sheet was filed in the before the Hon’ble Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thalassery, Kerala by Kerala Police on 16/01/2009 against 22 accused persons u/s 120(B),121,121(A), 124 (A),465,471 of IPC and sec. 3 r/w 13(ii), 16, 18, 19,38, 39 & 40 of UPA Act 1967 and supplementary charge sheet was filed in the before the Hon’ble Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Thalassery, Kerala by Kerala Police on 17/08/2009 against 23 accused persons u/s 120(B),121,121(A),124 (A), 465,471 of IPC and sec. 3 r/w 13(ii), 16, 18, 19,38, 39 & 40 of UA(P) Act 1967. Later NIA taken over the investigation and after complication of the investigation NIA has filed supplementary Charge sheet in the Hon’ble NIA Special Court, Ernakulum Kochi on 13/01/2011 against 24 accused persons u/s 120(B),121,121(A),122,123, 124(A), 212,465,471 r/w 34 of IPC and sec. 3 r/w 13(2), 16,17, 18, 19,38, 39 & 40 of UPA Act 1967. The trial is in progress on day today basis. Case is pending further investigation.
