RC-01/2011/NIA-DLI

A case vide FIR no. 704/2010 was registered at Muvattupuzha PS, Ernakulam Rural District, Kerala on 04-07-2010. Later, Govt. of India transferred the case to NIA for further investigation. Accordingly, a Case No.RC-01/2011/NIA-DLI was registered at PS NIA on 04/04/2011 u/s 143, 147, 148, 120 (B), 341, 427, 323, 324, 326, 506 (ii), 201, 202, 212, 153(A), 307 r/w 149 IPC, Section 3 of Explosive Substances Act 1908 and Sections 15 r/w 16, 18, 18 (B), 19 & 20 of UA(P) ACT 1967 as per MHA Order No. I-11011/62/ 2010-IS-IV dated 09-03-2011.

The accused persons chopped the palm of a college professor within Muvattupuzha Police Station limits in Ernakulam Rural District, Kerala. By chopping the palm of a professor of a college, the accused persons created terror and displayed hatred towards the law of the land and the judicial system and tried to invoke “Jihadi Law”, thereby disturbing the religious harmony of the nation.

Present Status:Kerala Police filed charge sheet on 10/01/2011 before the Hon’ble Court of Judicial First Class Magistrate , Muvattupuzha against 27 accused persons u/s 143, 147, 148, 120(b), 341, 427, 323, 324, 326, 506(ii), 153(a), 201, 202, 212, 307, 149 of IPC and Sec. 3 of Explosive Substances Act. . Later NIA taken over the investigation and Supplementary charge sheet was filed before NIA Spl Court, Ernakulam, Kerala on 18/01/2013 against 09 accused persons u/s 143, 147, 148, 341, 427, 323, 324, 326, 506(ii), 153(A), 120(B), 307, 212 r/w 149 IPC, Sec 3 of Explosive Substances Act, 1908 and Sections 16,19 & 20 of UA (P) Act 1967 (As amended in 2008). The framing of charges is under consideration at the NIA Spl Court, Ernakulam, Kerala. Further investigation is in progress.
