As per GOI, MHA order No. 11011/75/2012-IS.IV, dated 11/06/2013 NIA took over the investigation of FIR No. 10/2012, dated 31/08/2012 of ATS, Mumbai Police station, Maharashtra state and re-registered the case on 24/06/2013 at PS NIA, Mumbai as Case RC- 01/2013/NIA/Mum U/s 201of IPC ; 3, 25 & 27 of Indian Arms Act, 1959 and 18, 20 & 38 of Unlawful Activity (Prevention) Act 1967.

Summary of Allegations

The case was based on the allegation that members of a banned terrorist organization Lashker-e-Toiba had conspired to kill prominent right wing political leaders, their sympathizer and media persons at Nanded, Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and Bangalore, Karnataka.

Present Status

CaseATS, Maharashtra filed charge-sheet against 05 arrested accused persons on 23-01-2013 before the Hon’ble District & Sessions Court, Aurangabad. Further investigation of the case is in progress with NIA.
