As per Government of India, Ministry of Home Affairs Order No. I-11034/18/2011-IS-IV dated 01/04/2011 National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the investigation FIR No. 85/2007 dated 11/10/2007 Dargah Sharif Police Station, Ajmer(Raj) and re-registered the case on 06/04/2011 as RC- 03/2011/NIA/DLI at NIA Police Station , New Delhi under section 302, 307, 323, 295 (A), 201, 120 -B of IPC, Section 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 & 20 of UA (P) and Section 3 & 4 Explosives Substances Act.

Summary of Allegations

On 11/10/2007, at about 06:14 pm at the time of Roza Iftaar, a powerful bomb blast took place in the compound of Dargah Sharif, Ajmer, in which 3 persons died and another 15 persons were injured. The said blast was caused to create communal disharmony, riots, strike disturbances in the country and insult the religious feelings of a particular community during the month of Ramzan.

Present Status

A.T.S Rajasthan filed a charge sheet against three accused persons on 20/10/2010 before the Hon’ble Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Ajmer. NIA filed first supplementary charge sheet on 28/04/2011 against two accused persons, second supplementary charge sheet on 18/07/2011 against 08 accused persons, and third Supplementary charge sheet on 29.10.2013 against 02 persons. The NIA Special Court Jaipur has framed the charges and trial commenced w.e.f 19/06/2014. The trial is fully completed.
